As Chris Barnes begins his final season on the PBA Tour, the sport recognizes one of the most accomplished and driven competitors of the modern era. For nearly three decades, Barnes has embodied excellence, perseverance, and relentless competitiveness at the highest level of professional bowling.

While this marks the end of his full-time run on the PBA Tour, it is not the end of his competitive career. Chris will continue competing full-time on the PBA50 Tour, where his passion for the game remains as strong as ever.

A Career Defined by Major Moments

Since joining the PBA Tour in 1998, Chris Barnes has built a résumé that places him among the game’s all-time greats. He owns 19 PBA Tour titles, including three major championships, the 2005 U.S. Open, the 2006 Tournament of Champions, and the 2011 PBA World Championship.

He was named PBA Rookie of the Year in 1998 and later captured PBA Player of the Year honors during the 2007–08 season, a year that showcased his ability to dominate against the strongest fields in the world.

Barnes is also one of the few players in history to complete the PBA Triple Crown, a testament to his versatility and ability to perform on bowling’s biggest stages.

Most recently, his impact was further recognized when he was ranked No. 4 on the PBA’s 2025 list of the Best 25 PBA Players of the Last 25 Seasons. It was a powerful reminder that his sustained excellence has defined an entire generation of competition.

Fire, Focus, and Consistency

Chris competed with intensity, emotion, and a visible desire to win. That edge made him one of the most compelling players to watch on television and one of the toughest competitors to face on the lanes.

His consistency speaks for itself. Barnes earned at least $100,000 in 14 different PBA seasons, including a remarkable streak of 12 consecutive seasons early in his career. Year after year, he proved he belonged among the elite.

Beyond titles and earnings, he also earned one of the sport’s most meaningful honors, the Tony Reyes Community Service Award. That recognition reflects the broader impact he has had on the bowling community, using his platform to give back while still competing at the highest level.

A Key Chapter with 900 Global

Chris joined the 900 Global brand in January 2015, bringing with him not only credibility and experience but a championship pedigree. His arrival helped elevate the brand’s presence on tour and reinforced its commitment to competing at the highest level.

From television finals to championship runs, Barnes has played a meaningful role in shaping 900 Global’s competitive identity. His voice, his knowledge, and his willingness to test and trust equipment at the highest level have helped push the brand forward.

While he did not spend his entire career with 900 Global, his impact during this chapter has been significant and lasting.

The Next Stage

As his final PBA Tour season unfolds, it is an opportunity to reflect on a career that has influenced the modern era of professional bowling. Nineteen titles, three majors, a Triple Crown, Player of the Year honors, and recognition as one of the top players of the last quarter century.

That is legacy.

And as he transitions fully to the PBA50 Tour, the competitive fire that defined his career is far from extinguished. It simply moves to a different stage.

Thank you, Chris, for the moments, the intensity, the championships, the standard you set for excellence on the PBA Tour, and for the work you’ve done and continue to do for The Bowlers Company and the 900 Global brand.
