Back-to-Back: Storm Opens the 2026 PWBA Season with the First Two Titles

May 11, 2026

The 2026 PWBA National Tour is just underway, and Storm Products has already claimed the first two titles. Leading the charge are Sin Li Jane, the 2024 PWBA Player of the Year, and New Hui Fen, the reigning 2025 PWBA Player of the Year — two Storm athletes who have combined to win back-to-back championships and continued a tradition of excellence that has made Storm the equipment of choice among the game’s elite competitors.

Stop 1: PWBA Bowlers Journal Rockford Open — Sin Li Jane Claims Title No. 6

At The Cherry Bowl in Rockford, Illinois, Malaysia’s Sin Li Jane delivered one of the most dominant stepladder performances in recent PWBA history, defeating Singapore’s New Hui Fen 257–234 to claim her sixth career title.

Entering as the No. 4 seed, Jane worked her way through the field with remarkable consistency. Using the Storm Bionic, she handled the 45-foot oil pattern with precision at every turn, dispatching Lauren Russo (211–178), Olivia Farwell (244–192), and first-time finalist Jade Cote (256–168). In the title match, she switched to the Ion Pro Solid in the 8th frame and finished with five consecutive strikes for a 257, putting the pressure on Hui Fen, who needed to strike out in the 10th for the win but left a heartbreaking ringing 10-pin on her first ball. Jane claimed the title and the $20,000 top prize. Her four-game total of 986 (246 average) ranks among the highest stepladder totals in PWBA history since 2015.

“I wasn’t thinking about the score. I just wanted to make good shots. If there was trouble, I made adjustments, talked to my ball reps and tried to solve problems as quickly as possible.”

— Sin Li Jane

The win also carries personal meaning for Jane. It came at the same venue that jump-started her Player of the Year run two years ago, and it’s a clear statement that she’s back at her best.

Stop 2: PWBA Northern Colorado Open — New Hui Fen Answers Back

One week later at Highland Park Lanes in Greeley, Colorado, Hui Fen had some unfinished business to take care of. After the heartbreak of a runner-up finish in Rockford, she came back as the No. 1 qualifier for the second straight week, and this time didn’t let it slip. Relying on her favorite ball — the Storm !Q Tour Ruby — Hui Fen defeated Stephanie Zavala 228–202 for her sixth career title and the $18,500 top prize.

Hui Fen was sharp from the opening frames, striking five times in the first six frames to put Zavala behind early. Zavala had earned her spot in the final with wins over Storm’s Nora Johansson, Shannon Pluhowsky, and Roto Grip’s Jordan Snodgrass, but an untimely seventh-frame split proved too costly.

“It’s about being very intentional with everything and sticking to the routine. Every thought that goes through my head is also intentional.”

— New Hui Fen

With a second and a first to open 2026, Hui Fen has now tallied nine championship-round appearances since 2024 alongside her six career titles, and she enters the rest of the season as the clear Player of the Year frontrunner.

The Tour heads to Las Vegas next for the USBC Queens — the first major of the season — running May 13–19 at Gold Coast Bowling Center. Storm athletes will be ready.
