Growing up in a small town outside Rochester, NY, bowling wasn't just a hobby—it was my entire life. My parents, Mike and Ellen Rose, were my biggest supporters and took me wherever I needed to go to compete. I spent my high school and college years with a ball in my hand, and even bowled professionally for a few years on the PBA tour.
My competitive nature drove me to some incredible wins, but the ones I'm most proud of came at the USBC tournament. Winning four eagles and holding the second-highest average for over 20 years was a testament to my dedication and a highlight of my career. It all culminated in 2023 when I was inducted into the USBC Hall of Fame for outstanding performance. It was a huge honor, a recognition of all the hard work and sacrifice.
But when I look back now, my greatest accomplishments aren’t about strikes and spares. They’re about the family I built. Marrying my wife, Ruth, and raising our two boys, Gabriel and Grayson, are the things I cherish most. At the end of the day, I don't want to be remembered as a great bowler. I want to be remembered as a great person.
