Storm’s Youth Evolution Team is made up of exceptional young boys and girls of all ages from across the country who are dedicated to bowling.

With similar bowling schedules of tournaments like Junior Gold, the Youth Open, SYC, PBA Jr, Storm Mid Atlantic Team Challenge and numerous other regional events, these kids will be putting in a lot of work on the lanes this summer but will also do their best to have some fun outside too.

Let’s get to know our young athletes a little better with some fun questions about their summer of 2023.

Katelyn Abigania, California – 16 years old Now that school is out, what will you do with your free time? I just got home from a school funded trip where we toured colleges around Los Angeles. We visited UC Irvine, Occidental College, CSU Northridge and UCLA. Goals for the summer? Make Jr Team USA again and match play at Junior Gold. Any family vacays this summer? Nope, all my family trips are for bowling! Favorite Summer snack? Mangos!

Keegan Alexander, Texas – 16 years old Now that school is out, what will you do with your free time? I will be practicing and working in the pro shop. What are you most looking forward to this summer? Going to Jr Team USA Camp. Goals for the summer? Make it to match play at Junior Gold and earn a spot on Jr Team USA again. Favorite summer memory? The last 2 years, I have reached my goal of making Team USA Developmental team and making a show so it made for some pretty great memories. Favorite summer snack? Corn on the cob and milkshakes!

Trevor Ashby, West Virginia – 17 years old What are you most looking forward to this summer? The event I’m looking forward to the most is Junior Gold. It’s in Indianapolis which is a place I have had success and I’m excited to go back Any family vacays this summer? Yes, it’s a vacation we take every year to Davenport, Iowa. I’m looking forward to seeing my aunt and uncle and visiting the Quad Cities again. Favorite summer memory? A few years ago, me and my family went to the west coast and my favorite part was seeing the Grand Canyon. It’s ginormous! Any community service this summer? Yes, I will be volunteering my time at our family’s non-profit, Acting Out for Good. Favorite summer snack? Chicken wings!

Maribeth Baker, Pennsylvania – 18 years old and attending Duquesne University in the Fall Now that school is out, what will you do with your free time? A lot of bowling. Also, planning and packing for college! Goals for the summer? To have fun on my last summer at home! And my last youth events before I leave for college. Any family vacays this summer? Yes, we are taking a family vacation to Ocean City. Any community service this summer? I help out at our local elementary school and help kids get ready for school in the fall. Favorite summer snack? I love fruit, especially in the summer!

Andru Blaney, Maryland – 18 years old and attending Mt. Mercy University in the Fall Now that school is out, what will you do with your free time? A lot of bowling. Also, planning and packing for college! Goals for the summer? To make Jr Team USA again. Besides bowling, will you be taking any family vacations this summer? We are going to Myrtle Beach for my sister’s softball. What are you most looking forward to? Going off to college.

Alex Crowley, Montana – 13 years old Now that school is out, what will you do with your free time? I am headed to 2 different Boy Scout camps this summer. One is on the ocean in Oregon and the other on Flathead Lake, the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi. I’ll be a camper at the first camp and a staff member at the other one. I’m also going to Indy to bowl the National Championships with my USA Bowling team and the Youth open with my ol’ friends form California What are you most looking forward to? Being outside, meeting new people, and doing a great job bowling in Indy. Favorite summer snack? S’mores, of course! And watermelon.

Aidan Furukawa, Ohio – 16 years old Now that school’s out, what will you do with your free time? I like to play XBOX with my friends. I will try to hit an occasional roller coaster park here and there. What are you most looking forward to? I am most looking forward to my first year in U18 at Junior Gold and also spending free time with my friends. Favorite summer memory? A few years ago, I had a neighbor who worked as the Kona Ice truck driver and every week he would drive through our neighborhood and give us all a free ice cup. He always picked the nights when everyone in the neighborhood was outside together. Favorite summer snack? Dairy Queen Cotton Candy Blizzard

Natalie Kent, New York – 18 years old and attending Vanderbilt University in the Fall Now that school’s out, what will you do with your free time? I am spending time with friends and family and soaking up every ounce of time I have left until I leave for college. What are you most looking forward to? Days by the pool and on the beach! Any family vacays this summer? Yes, a few days at the lake in Michigan with family. Favorite summer snack? Cowboy caviar.

Morgan Kline, Pennsylvania – 17 years old Now that school’s out, what will you do with your free time? I plan to be in the bowling center more often to practice. For fun, I hope to make a couple trips to the beach and Hershey Park. What are you most looking forward to? I’m looking forward to completing my senior year and making my college decision. Favorite summer memory? My favorite memory is going to the beach. Favorite summer snack? Without a doubt, watermelon.

Brady McDonough, Texas – 15 years old Now that school’s out, what will you do with your free time? I want to hit the lanes more often and enjoy some fun activities with my family. Any family vacays? Going to Junior Gold doubles as a family vacation, especially because my grandparents live close to Indy. Favorite summer memory? Making the TV finals at Junior Gold in 2019 was one of the best memories I’ve had in my life. Favorite summer snack? I couldn’t pick a #1 favorite, but cheddar and sour cream Ruffles are awesome.

Eliana Occhino, New York – 16 years old Now that school’s out, what will you do with your free time? I plan to work over the summer and bowl as much as I can at my home center, Lakeview Lanes. What are you most looking forward to this summer? I’m looking forward to sleeping in a little later and spending more time outside. Goals for the summer? My goal for the summer is to get stronger physically and mentally. Favorite summer memory? Hanging out with my friends on the lake. Favorite summer snack? Fresh fruit, especially watermelon and strawberries.

Matteo Quintero, Tennessee – 14 years old Now that school’s out, what will you do with your free time? In my free time, I’ll probably do baseball, hang out with friends, and play video games. Goals for the summer? Win an SYC, improve in bowling and baseball, average 210 on sport shots and keep up my good grades. Favorite summer memory? Hanging out with friends outside, having good times at SYC Indy, bowling and having roommates for the entire week! Favorite summer snack? Goldfish

Abigail Starkey, Illinois – 16 years old Now that school is out, what will you do with your free time? I will be hanging out with my friends and practicing for Junior Gold and other fun tournaments. Goals for the summer? My goal is to make Jr Team USA at Junior Gold. Any family vacays this summer? We have a family trip to Minoqua, Wisconsin with cousins from Georgia that I don’t get to see very often and my grandparents! Favorite summer memory? 4th of July because we have a huge pool party with friends and family. Favorite summer snack? Ruffles chips.

Kayla Starr, Maryland – 16 years old Now that school is out, what will you do with your free time? Lots of practicing and going to the gym. Also, hanging out with my friends and lifeguarding. Goals for the summer? My goal for the summer is to place well at Junior Gold. I also want to get stronger in the gym! Any community service this summer? I will be participating to help grow a garden in my nearby community. Favorite summer memory? My favorite summer memory was visiting San Diego with my family and swimming with the dolphins. Favorite summer snack? Caprese salad.

Kaitlyn Stull, North Carolina – 16 years old Now that school is out, what will you do with your free time? I’ll be bowling a lot and visiting my family in Michigan. What are you most looking forward to this summer? Junior Gold, I love the experience. Goals for the summer? To perform at my best. Any family vacays this summer? Yes, visiting family in Michigan but all other trips are for bowling! Any community service this summer? I volunteer at my home bowling center when they have tournaments. Favorite summer snack? Any spicy chips.

Micah Voorhis, New Jersey – 17 years old Now that school is out, what will you do with your free time? More bowling! And when I’m not bowling, I do Jiu Jitsu, and hang out with my friends playing basketball and football. What are you most looking forward to this summer? I love the time spent with friends at the bowling events and when I am home, I also enjoy being able to enjoy friends from school who I don’t see much over the summer because of tournaments. Goals for the summer? Matchplay at Junior Gold, qualify for PBA Jr, win my third Parker Bohn title and win my tenth Youth Open eagle. Any family vacays this summer? We are going to Canada after Junior Gold. Any community service this summer? Preparing for student leadership at the end of the summer. Favorite summer snack? Sun Chips, Arizona Tea, Dr. Pepper and ice cream.

Jos Weems, Illinois – 13 years old Now that school is out, what will you do with your free time? Summer STEM Camp, an international trip (not sure where yet) and more bowling practice Goals for the summer? To win all the events I enter this summer! Any family vacays this summer? Yes, we are taking an international trip to one of these places – Spain, South Africa, or maybe the Caribbean. Any community service this summer? Yes, STEM Camp and the Elite Youth Tour’s charity efforts. Favorite summer snack? Scatchell’s Italian Ice.

Ashtyn Woods, California – 17 years old and attending Wichita State University in the Fall What are you most looking forward to this summer? I’m incredibly busy! I work at the bowling center and I practice all the time. My best friend is visiting from Idaho and we’ll be going around the city and San Francisco to do some exploring. I am also getting ready to go to college at Wichita State in the fall. Any family vacays this summer? My family and I are going camping. Favorite summer snack? Bomb Pops!
