TREND 2

For a ball to be emblazoned with Jason Belmonte’s insignia, you know it must be special. After all, his 13 majors and multiple PBA Player of the Year accolades is no small feat. This man knows what he’s talking about, so we’ve enlisted his help in designing some of the highest performing balls on the market, balls which reflect his career.

Now it’s time to set another TREND with the Trend 2.

“Of all the Signature™ line balls Storm and I have created, Trend 2 has us the most excited. With a stronger cover and a redesign of the weight block, we have created an absolute monster for any style of player,” said Jason. “Trend 2 will give you the ability to move deeper on the lane without losing entry angle into the pocket. If you are in need of throwing that big couple games, Trend 2 is going to have your back.”

The engine of change

The Piston Core has adapted to the ever-changing environment we all endure. We’ve lightened the density of the weight block to create a higher RG with lower differential. Enter: The Piston LD Core. This provides the player with more continuation off the end of the pattern with the core dynamics concentrated in this range. Differentials in this class allow the core to stay in constant motion without “locking up” or going forward too quickly.

Game Changing Reaction

The sleek styling of the gorgeous orange, purple, black NRG hybrid cover is just a hint of the power contained. The factory polished finish helps the Trend 2 glide effortlessly through the front part of the lane, with extra grip on the backend where it counts. When the fronts are starting to dry out and you need explosive backend the Trend 2 is unquestionably the right weapon for the job.

Trend 2
I have only been on staff less than 2 months and I am really liking this piece. This is a good piece for Medium-heavy oil patterns. When the fronts go, It gets length with continuous backend motion. And is good for playing 4-5 arrow when the lanes force you to get inside.

Amazing
I recently purchased this ball at my local pro shop, I’m a 14 year old, 2 handed bowler that throws around 15mph with a medium rev rate. I took this ball on the lanes and was shocked, I can stay staunch on 39, throw it over to 10, and hit the pocket consistently. I just bowled my high of 193 with this ball, would recommend for any bowler looking for lots of ball motion and trying to stay on boards 30+.
Overall, great ball nice job storm

Trend2 By Roto Grip Rick
Storm Trend2 - Layout: 45 x 6 x 45 - 1500 grit polished
Ball test conditions: Practiced on 44ft THS on SPL and 46ft THS on older HPL
My findings: During warm-ups the Trend2 went into transition from skid to hook a tid bit sooner then the Global Zen and the OG Trend. After a few games on the lanes, I needed to move my feet and break point farther outside the normal track area, for the fact that once it caught the carry down lane conditioner, it ball started to respond later and later, less "hook" in the back end and once I moved out into the lighter oil on the pattern, the original reaction that my eyes liked was back. Felt and seen I need to play more close angles to allow the ball to read and roll correctly for myself. On the short time I bowled on HPL with the ball, the surface of the lane patterns made a HUGE difference, Was able to open up the lane a lot better and was able to keep a good look down lane even as the pattern changed, was able to migrate my normal way inside and away from the area everyone was using during our practice session. Ended up like the Storm Trend2 on the HPL then on SPL.

Review:
This is the best Belmo ball I have ever rolled! I never used the Timeless; the drive was a good control ball for me although not very popular. The Pro Motion is great on certain conditions, not so much on others and the Original Trend was close to being what I wanted. This Trend 2 though is a very, very good ball! The first thing I had to realize was how much stronger the ball was than I expected. I had to keep moving deeper but once I did the ball was impressive. It corners a lot better that the Original Trend and seems to carry better also. This ball gives me more messenger strikes than I am used to. We had a recent ball demo and this was by far the best seller of the group of very good balls being tested. For people skeptical of the Belmo series don’t miss out on this ball. It is more versatile than previous balls in the series. I have rolled this ball a bunch since it came out and it rolls well on multiple conditions. The Trend 2 is a ball I know I can trust on various lines and conditions. I like the box surface very much but for the sake of science I hit it with a 2000 pad and let it lane shine a bit and saw a stronger overall but similar shape. It is nice to know you can rough the ball up a bit for heavier oil and maintain back end motion. I am a big fan of this ball and it is a hit at the shop. This ball should be a great option on medium to heavy conditions and work for many styles of play. I would put this ball under my Zen Master but above my Hypes in total hook.

Summary:
The Trend 2 is the best in the Belmo series in my opinion.
The motion and hit are very strong.
The Trend 2 is a strong versatile ball.

Trend 2!
The Trend 2 is the 5th signature line ball produced by Storm in collaboration with Jason Belmonte. It features a modified piston block that was originally in the Pro Motion and Trend. This new block has a significantly lower differential and higher RG which in combined with the NRG hybrid cover produces significantly more down lane shape than the original Trend. I personally was not a big fan of the Trend, the R2S pearl cover was too quick/low friction to play really straight but as soon as I tried to chase it left, it wanted to go too forward off the end of the pattern due to how much the piston block wants to get into a roll. I see absolutely none of these problems out of the Trend 2. The first night of using it in this center, I managed to snag a couple of pot games and the eliminator win. Since then, it’s become a staple in my league bag for game 3 and has paid for itself multiple times over. When compared to the Axiom Pearl, the Trend 2 is a quite a bit cleaner and sharper off the end of the pattern. I could see myself going to the Trend 2 when I need to jump a zone left after the Axiom Pearl starts slowing down too quickly. When compared to the Hyroad, the Trend 2 is a touch earlier and rounder off the end of the pattern. The Trend 2 is now available for purchase in your local Storm VIP pro shop!

Trend 2 review by Mike Craig
I drilled up my TREND 2 at 4.5 x 25 and threw it at box finish. The idea is to compare to a couple of other trusted pieces that tend to come out when I think the TREND 2 should be in play. These are the ZEN and IDOL SYNERGY. First thing I noticed about the TREND 2 is it glides fairly easily thru the fronts no matter how chopped up they seem to get. My ZEN is a go to when I need something to pick up and the bigger balls are sluggish looking in the back ends. As predicted. the ZEN was earlier than the TREND 2 for me. I keep my ZEN at a light 2000. They do play off each other well as my TREND 2 gets slightly longer and has that ZENlike pop on the backend. IDOL SYNERGY plays off the TREND 2 as well getting more length when the TREND 2 is starting to check too quickly or go forward too fast. I did also try the HYPED HYBRID. It was after the TREND 2 was slowing down too much. I had to be more precise with it speed wise than going to the IDOL SYNERGY but that is another review. If you been skeptical about the Belmo releases (I was because my rev rate is about half of Jason's), this ball will get your attention. I have been able to get it up the lane or get around it some more and get it back and still have strong hit with it.
