PROTON PHYSIX

It's really no surprise why the PhysiX and AstroPhysiX have been wildly popular ever since their respective debuts. After all, the PhysiX offers one of the shapeliest reactions available, and the AstroPhysiX follows it up with stellar performance when the pattern opens up, and more length and backend are required. But until now, there really hasn’t been a PhysiX truly suited for heavy oil. Well, consider the problem solved! The Proton PhysiX is here to give you traction and hook on virtually any heavy oil condition imaginable.

It doesn't get more iconic than this

Firmly ensconced at the top of the Storm performance heap is the all-new Atomic Core. Yes, it officially boasts a 0.053 total differential in a 15 pound ball, and the rest of its prodigious oomph accepts credit from the strategically placed inlets surrounding the oval bolt and greater mass displacement along the z-axis creating an enhanced intermediate differential. With extreme amounts of power and dynamics, the PhysiX almost feels like cheating.

Strong just got stronger.

NRG™ has become a staple in Storm’s lineup of coverstocks for nearly a decade. It’s due time for an upgrade! NeX (Nano Extreme) is Storm’s earliest reading cover to date. NeX Solid was remarkably earlier hooking than NRG on any pattern, or any surface we tested it on. Our standardized durability and longevity tests showed NeX created 11% more entry angle and 9.6% more overall hook after 50 shots compared to a fresh NRG cover. Simply put, NeX gives more midlane read than ever WITHOUT sacrificing any backend! Wow.

I love this ball!! I have my high series of 781 with it and it is very playable on anything! I am mostly down and in, but can always move in with it and it has so much drive!

Awesome!
As a new bowler, this ball has really helped me to create more angle when I need it. I don't have a terribly high rev rate, but the Proton allows me to open up, and the ball just digs through the oil following it up with a strong back end. This ball has dramatically helped me increase my average as well. Great job storm! Please keep this one out for a long time!

It's a really great ball and always finds the pocket where ever you throw it on the lane.

Perfect
I took a 17 year hiatus from the sport. When I returned, I had to learn how to bowl on synthetic lanes with HEAVY OIL. Needless to say I only averaged 130-140. Then I discovered the Proton Physics, and I've been able to climb my average up to 170 by routinely averaging 200+. It's still a far cry from 230, but that's a matter of spare shooting. I've shot my best games with this ball after my opponent played urethane. Carry down in front of this ball is like a big in front of a semi

Strong but not Uncontrollable
This ball is absolutely incredible. I've had the ball for about 6 months and I have bowled a former PB of 279 and my first 700 series for 3 games at a tournament. This Proton Physix is almost broken in my hands; I am a lower rev (200-300 rpms depending on many I need) player and generally use asymmetric equipment on most patterns. Needless to say this ball is early digging, heavy rolling yet controllable piece. I can stand left or chuck it up 5 and still have great and consistent carry for multiple games even at different centres and lane conditions.

Overall 9.5/10 - Absolutely phenomenal but I can say this being too much ball for higher rev players and/or certain conditions. For me tho it is perfect (:

Powerful hook!
Great ball! Seems to get through the heads easily with a vicious backend. Just wondering if anyone using it is finding that it really changes the lane condition more so than other balls???

GREAT BALL
My coach said I needed something with a solid coverstock, and I had heard good things about the Proton PhysiX, so I picked it up and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of hook! I was lead to believe that the ball would be too crazy to handle, but that just isn't the case, the ball is very controllable on house shots, and I will be expecting the same on sport shots. Hope this helps anyone who is on the edge about the Proton, just get it, probably the best decision of my bowling career. (Thanks Tim at Park Lanes for drilling!)

Great Ball!
This is a very strong ball, it provides a lot of power when it reaches the pocket and has helped me put up higher scores since I got it! This Monday night in leagues I shot my new high series with this bowl and had only one open frame the entire night :(. All in all though, a really great ball, and has even helped me obtain a college scholarship to bowl!

Awesome Ball
I am a lefty and have never thrown an aggressive ball, Tell Now. This ball breaks breaks right in to the pocket with amazing pin action. I stand just on the 5th dot and throw over the 2nd arrow and breaks in every time. Very glade I went with it.

Strong
Earned a spot in my bag because of how strong it is, I had a strong ball but not like what you will see with this! Just be confident and push the ball out there it will make its way back to the pocket and power through the pin deck better than anything I’ve yet to see!
10/10 love it and would recommend if you need something strong on league night for the first game or two!

Big ball, big shape.
The layout used on my Proton PhysiX is 65 x 5.25 x 30. This is my benchmark layout on all asymmetric pieces.

The Proton PhysiX is able to differentiate itself from other strong solid asymmetric balls by creating a booming motion down-lane even as you move left. This allows it to have play on a variety of conditions, even on your typical house shot. Where other balls in its category will start to burn up and flat 10, the Proton will continue to go through the pins the correct way.

Review:
This is the big ball Storm Fans have been waiting for. The look of the ball is great and it rolls even better. The Proton is the biggest hooking ball in my bag edging out my UFO. The proton reads early but has a nice move on the back end. This ball has already been a big seller in our shops. I have a lower rev rate but the Proton Physix is normally too much ball on our house shot even for me. They double oil the first pair in one of the houses I bowl and the Proton was awesome on that tough condition. I even had the front 9 with it then left a stone 9 pin that broke my heart then struck for 279. This ball is also surprisingly forgiving for its strength. I have drilled the Proton Physix for our lower rev rate High School bowlers and they are getting more motion than they ever have. Hook always seems to make folks happy! You just need to know when to put it away. I have tested this ball on a few conditions and if there is enough oil you will not be disappointed. The Proton drives through the rack nice and strong. I feel the Proton is an upgrade on the original Physix because of the back end motion we have seen with this new release. The original seemed much more forward than this one. If you are looking for a heavy oil ball, or bowl on thick sport conditions the Proton Physix is a great choice.

Summary:
The Proton Physix is very strong throughout the whole lane.
The Proton can really open up a lane.
The colors and scent are great.
The Proton is a great choice for heavier oil patterns.

Proton Physix by Roto Grip Rick
Storm Proton Physix – layout: 70 x 1 ½ x 60
Tech specs: NeX reactive coverstock – Atomic Core – 2000ab finish
Ball review: When layout out this ball I took into account how much more rev dominate I have become in the past 2 years. So with that we drilled a shorter pin to pap for me to help calm the ball down overall. Anything 3 ½ to 5 ½ pin to pap is way too strong for me for asymmetric cores since my accident over 2 years ago. During the course of practicing and filming for my ball video I found the Proton to be stronger overall than any the Omega Crux that actually had a stronger pin to pap layout. I was thinking that with the 1 ½ inch pin drilling, it would be smooth rolling down the entire lane, but surprisingly I was not. It still saved plenty of energy in the front part of the lane to allow it to recover very nicely in the backend of the lane. Was also able to play straight with less hand and still hold up very well and was also to open up the front angle and still have plenty of strength to strike the pocket pretty hard. This is step up in strength from the new Roto Grip RST-X1 with similar layout.
