Don't go with the flow. Be the flow.

The Aeroflo Core builds on the classical Storm credence of elegance and simplicity. The ellipsed hole filled with lighter core material constructs a higher RG than what is typically found in most asymmetric balls. The flip block coupled at the bottom ensures high total differential, but without the crucial cuts on the Y-axis, the intermediate differential would be just 0.007! The strategically positioned depressions on the Z-axis 6 3/4” from the pin mimic the effect of an extra hole in a similar space and keeps the intermediate differential at a more workable amount. Having a precise ratio of intermediate to total differential makes drilling less sensitive for drillers and provides a truer roll for bowlers.

The secret to getting ahead is getting started.

We stepped back and took the best features of our seven most popular coverstocks: Reactor™, R2S™, TX-16™, NRG™, SPEC™, GI-20™, and NeX™. What’s realized has more texture, more porosity, and more motility that combines the benefits of seven of the most iconic coverstocks to ever leave the Storm workshop. TractionX7 headlines the durability of TX-16, the backend of R2S, and the slower oil absorption rates of SPEC. Simply put, there’s versatility encased in TractionX7’s genome that stays put for as long as it stays in your bag.

Parallax means AMAZING carry...
I wasn't sure how this ball would match up for me on a house shot. It has more than proven itself as a great ball to start and finish with on league night. Where it really shines is in its power through the pins. Where others are throwing good shots and leaving 10 pins, this ball packs the power to kick those corner pins out very consistently.

From a ball motion standpoint, I like something to get down the lane with a smooth transition into the roll phase. It's smooth where you want it, but changes direction enough on the dry to hit the pocket just right.

I've only needed to move 1 board during league night, so it's pretty forgiving when the conditions change. My ball speed is around 14-15 MPH with slow to medium revs. Rolling over 15 to around 7-8 board is where I play this ball. I just upped my high series with this ball.

I might have to stock up on these :)

Parallax by Roto Grip Rick
Storm Parallax - 35 x 3 7/8th x 40 at 1500 grit polished then 800 and 1500 grit.
Coverstock: TractionX7 Hybrid Reactive
Weight Block: Aeroflo Asymmetric Core
With the Aeroflow core with the Hybrid reactive cover stock I found the ball with the above layout very strong overall on our typical house pattern, it was very aggressive in the backend, when moving to a center with SPL with a longer oil pattern the ball matched up much better. Haven't had a ball this aggressive on the back end since the Virtual Energy. Once I adjusted the surface to slow the ball up in the front part of the lane, I felt more comfortable with the ball on older HPL with have at my main practice and league center. Was very confident using it between 5th and 6th arrow and getting the ball to recover with a good bit of energy getting to the pins. Great heavy oil ball and takes cover changes very nicely.

Parallax Review
Ball Specs:
Storm Parallax
Hybrid Reactive
1500 Grit Polished
Aeroflo Asymmetric Core
Layout 50 x 5 x 40

Bowler Specs:
Right Hand. PAP 5” Over 1/2 up
Rev Rate 300. Tilt 20. Rotation 50.
Speed at cameras 15.5

The new Storm Parallax is a very strong polished Hybrid bowling ball. I drilled my first one with the Mass Bias mark on my VAL and the pin 3-3/4 from PAP which resulted in the ball reading too early and responding too early for our house conditions even with my lower rev rate. I like it but will regulate this layout to tournament conditions where there is more head oil. I drilled the next one weaker in relation to the MB and Pin and bam! I now have a hit for what we typically bowl on when they oil them up a bit more than usual. The Parallax is a heavy rolling ball with just the right amount of back end motion. I feel these newer balls that take in account the no balance hole rule do not need to be drilled too strong to react great. In most cases less is more on the layout allowing the ball to store energy for better carry. My Parallax is much stronger than my Trend but surprisingly my Axiom Pearl is stronger than my Parallax. When I need a big hooking polished ball but with less angle than the Axiom the trend is on point. This ball was a nice surprise especially with a weaker layout for me.

The Parallax uses a new core to compensate for the new balance hole rules.
The Parallax rolls great on heavier patterns.
This ball has a lot of hook for a shiny ball.

Storm got this one right!
I don't write many ball reviews, but I do have to give credit where credit is due. In my opinion, the Storm Parallax is the best hybrid ball that the company has produced in a very long time. Yes, even better than the Physix, which was also a great ball. Storm got this one right!

For me, the Parallax is the perfect balance of strong, yet controllable on the lanes. It does not overreact to the friction, yet it is still strong. Also, it will not burn up or roll out like some of the stronger heavy oil balls when the heads start to go or there is not enough oil. Strikes are coming in bunches for me and it's all due to the new coverstock. The new Traction X7 cover is quickly becoming my favorite of all the product line. Again, I think the Parallax is a great ball and it should be in the running for ball of the year, behind the Axiom. It's just right for my game and I look forward to Storm putting the cover on other weight blocks or cores. The Aeroflo core appears to do it's job well, but the Traction X7 cover on the Atomic core would be nice, too! Wink, wink. - LOL.

Great job Storm!! Keep up the good work.
