Tournament Notes: The Milwaukee Open, featuring the top qualifiers from the PBA Badger, Wolf and Bear Open tournaments includes three of the six members of the elite PBA “Triple Crown” club – Chris Barnes of Double Oak, Texas; PBA Hall of Famer Norm Duke of Clermont, Fla., and PBA Hall of Famer Pete Weber of St. Ann, Mo. As top qualifier, Barnes selected the demanding 52-foot Badger lane condition for the finals. The Badger condition is one of the three new “animal” lane conditioning patterns introduced by the PBA specifically for the Summer Swing. The Badger, Wolf and Bear lane conditions were the first new additions to the PBA’s “animal pattern” collection of lane conditioning patterns since the introduction of the Chameleon, Cheetah, Scorpion, Shark and Viper patterns in 2005.

The winner of the opening match will meet Duke, who is tied with Weber for third on the all-time Tour titles list with 37 wins. The winner of match two will advance to the semifinal contest against No. 2 qualifier Weber who is trying for his second title of the season after his historic Barbasol Tournament of Champions win in April.
