Bowling News USA - April 27, 2013 IB Open Ready to Roll in St. Louis...$8000 on Top Sunday!

The Storm Open kicked off Friday with a sold out doubles tournament.  Two squads of 39 teams took to the lanes at both 6PM and 9PM.  The doubles was a new event this year instead of a practice session.  The Storm IB Open lane pattern was used during this tournament and scoring was up and down.

Tommy Berish bowled 297, Alex Cavagnaro 300, Mike Fagan 298, Randy Weiss 300 and Brenden Williams 300 as the high games on the night.

A Squad competed on the fresh, and it was Vernon Peterson who teamed with Rob Gotchall to take the early lead at +287.  This was only good enough for 3rd place as B Squad bowling on the burn saw the team of Anthony Pepe and Alex Cavagrano out score Gotchall and Peterson by boasting a score of +324. Also on B squad, the team of McNeely and Layman finished 2nd overall at +291.

Cavagnaro & Pepe took home $1,000 for their efforts.

Complete standings from the sold out Friday Night Doubles can be found below this article.

The 2013 Storm Open is being broadcast live on all day Saturday.
