GRAVITY EVOLVE

The game has changed and so should we. Stepping back, we realized amateurs and professionals around the world have been clamoring for a heavy-rolling, fast-migrating core akin to one of the most famous of all-time: The Shape-Lock HD Core. This shape can power through just about anything. “HD” is short for high density, which lowers the RG and raises the differential of the weight block. And with SPEC at the helm, expect heavy roll with no shortage of higher scores and more strikes.

The Gravity of the Situation

This shape can power through just about anything. “HD” is short for high density, which lowers the RG and raises the differential of the weight block. A higher differential translates to more flare potential, so every time the ball makes a rotation it exposes a fresh portion of coverstock material to the oil.

Breakthrough Begins

SPEC stands for “Storm Performance Enhanced Coverstock”. The intent behind this formula was to create something that withstands the rigors every bowling ball endures each time it takes a trip down the lane; namely, the friction and oil it encounters. We all know and accept that bowling balls smooth out over time, just like the tread on the tires of your car. With SPEC, you can expect consistent performance that is as tireless as it is dynamic. It’s bold, definite, and extremely potent.

This Ball is Perfect
I recently started bowling using only house balls (August 2019) and my beginning scores averaged around a 90. I moved up to the Tropical Surge on October 2nd, and my averaged creeped up to about 120. Fast forward to today, November 1st, I purchased the Gravity Evolved and broke my personal best of 158 7 different times in the first 7 games after drilling. I actually rolled a 225 and I'm amazed by the power and forgiveness of this ball. I would purchase it again if anything ever happened.

Review:
We were fortunate enough to get the Gravity Evolve at our Storm Match Maker Ball Demo and it was very popular. We saw our High School bowlers stringing strikes with ease. We saw a good amount of early roll and hook with control. I don’t see this as being a ball you should swing too much unless you have the hand for it, but if you keep your lines in front of you this ball is excellent. The Evolve played well for all styles we had at the Demo which makes Pro Shop Operators very happy! I had not had mine very long and had only tested it on a dryer condition where it rolled and hit well but was too much ball for the condition. A few days after the Demo I used it for the first time in league. We bowl on a slightly wetter and flatter house shot than most and after a decent start with my Halo Pearl I felt I wanted a more predictable reaction. I pulled out the Evolve and went spare then the next 11 for a 290. This was my first full game with the Gravity Evolve. The ball revs up easily has a nice move at the break point and will not over react. The carry is super for an early rolling ball. The Evolve has great shelf appeal and a great “fruit loop” type smell to me. I think the Spec cover on this core will be more versatile than the Pro Motion. Total hook I would put between my Original Halo and Super Soniq.

Summary:
This may be the most versatile Spec Cover ball.
The Gravity Evolve is strong and predictable.
The Evolve matched well with many styles of play.
