It doesn't get more iconic than this

Firmly ensconced at the top of the Storm performance heap is the all-new Atomic Core. Yes, it officially boasts a 0.053 total differential in a 15 pound ball, and the rest of its prodigious oomph accepts credit from the strategically placed inlets surrounding the oval bolt and greater mass displacement along the z-axis creating an enhanced intermediate differential.

To strike, there must be friction

R2S is synonymous with some of the most successful balls in recent history like the Hy-Road, Frantic, and the IQ Tour. It is renowned for clearing the front part of the lane with an unprecedented movement on the backend. The consistency of this shell through the heads is something to be marveled at.

Review:
First off, this ball has great shelf appeal. It is getting a lot of attention in the shop just based on color. The Astro Physix is also an Asymmetric ball so we are ahead of the balance hole rules on this one regarding drilling layouts. The R2S cover has been used before by Storm with great success so it stands to reason this will be another great addition to the Storm line up. The Astro Physix is totally different than the Original Physix due to the cover so if you’re looking for a small step down the difference in hook is too big in my opinion. The Astro is closer to the Emerald IQ in total hook but has a more defined break point especially on heavier oil. The Astro Physix gives me a glide through the front part of the lane but confidence at the break point. The hit on the Astro Physix is very, very good. This ball fits right between my Halo Pearl and Idol Pearl in total hook. I have really enjoyed this ball on a few different conditions especially a fresh house shot.
We have drilled these for a few different styles and even though the ball is a stronger asymmetric it is driller friendly and works for various styles of play.

Summary:
The Astro Physix is very clean through the heads.
The Astro Physix has a nice defined break point.
The hit and carry of the Astro is excellent.
A great choice for medium to oily lanes.

A must have ball!
The ASTROPHYSIX is a strong and very versatile ball. I can play up the boards or move deeper inside without sacrificing power or carry. A true benchmark for all types of bowlers arsenals!

ASTRO PHYSIX---WOW
I was recently in the states and as usual, I visited my proshop, AL HARDESTY'S STRIKE SHOP in Tinley Park , Illinois. We laid out 2 ASTRO PHYSIX for me to bring back to the island. All I can say is that I have never seen a ball smoother thru the midlane, and conserving so much energy off the spot that I was immediately just blowing away racks. Haven't done that in a long time as I am 62 years old--lol... This ball rates right there with my favorite STORM ball ever---THE FOREST FIRE...TOTALLY AWESOME piece of equipment

Love it!
Right out of the box I loved the motion on the back end while getting through the fronts easily. Great ball can't wait to throw it some more before fall leagues

AstroPhysix for the win!!
The Storm AstroPhysix is one of my new favorite bowling balls - OF ALL TIME!!

The AstroPhysix gets down the lane with the greatest of ease and it hits like something out of this world! LOL. When it hits the back of the lane, it releases its energy on the pins with some force. This thing hits hard and goes through the pins the right way.

I drilled mine with a pin down drilling which placed the pin about an inch under my ring finger with the PSA swung out to my V.A.L. The layout gives me good length with a defined move on the back end. I prefer this pin down layout because it tends to be a bit smoother on the end of the pattern. I get fewer balls through the face of the pocket, or in other words, less splits. This in turn means higher scores with less open frames. The AstroPhysix just seems to highlight this fact because it is controllable off of the spot and it has a defined asymmetric move that I really like in terms of the perfect shape down lane. The Atomic core really is the perfect match for the ball. I never have to worry about this ball turning the corner. It is coming back! LOL.

Although I did not buy a Physix, I know this ball will complement the Physix very well. I do own a Super Son!Q that has the same outer cover as the Physix. Both balls will complement each other well. When the stronger cover is giving me some trouble with starting up too early, I can confidently pick up the AstroPhysix and continue striking.

I look forward to seeing if Storm will put the Atomic core in a solid cover. If so, I will probably buy that ball without even hesitating. The Astro is great ball! Anything like it will be just as good in my book.

AstroPhysix for the win! Go get yours today. Peace!

Out of this world
Layout - 55 x 5 x 40

As a big fan of the R2S cover, I was very excited for the Astro Physix. The combination of the big early rolling core and a medium strength/responsive coverstock always matches up well with my game.

Out of the box I hit the Astro with a 2000 grit pad to remove some of the shine. I do this to all polished equipment because it helps my ball shape in the puddle as well as not be overly jumpy off of friction.

Immediately I was very comfortable with the shape of the Astro. Of course it is clean through the front part of the lane as one would expect of a ball with the R2S pearl cover, but as it transitions through the midlane you can see a little bit of the midlane control the Physix provided. Now off of the spot is where the Astro shines, when compared to the original physix it is a lot more responsive and sharp. The Astro Physix is the perfect compliment to the bigger solid asymmetrical balls for when they begin to get lazy downlane.

Storm AstroPhysiX
Hey everyone, this is Storm amateur staffer and turbo regional staffer Josh Shoemaker here with another ball review for the brand-new Storm Astro PhysiX. Before we begin, I want to thank Storm and Turbo for providing me with all the equipment I use every time I step on the lanes, and the Facebook page Storm and Rotogrip Bowling Balls for Sale for providing me with a platform to promote all of this great equipment. I recently decided to switch to 16lbs, so both balls featured in this video are indeed 16. The Astro features the same atomic core as the original physiX, but is now wrapped in R2S pearl. This produces a cleaner and faster response ball than the original physiX, while still retaining the great midlane control the original offered. For anyone that was a fan of the code black, you will fall in love with the Astro. The astro produces a very unique motion that offers the best of both worlds. By using such a low friction cover, you get a ball that almost ignores the front part of the lane while still providing the asym torque needed to produce a consistent reaction downlane. I see myself using the Astro as a first ball out of my bag for league, or touching the surface and using it as 3rd out of the bag during longer tournament blocks. When compared to the Hyroad, the Astro is a zone earlier and a few more boards overall. With the Astro being asymmetric, it has a more defined hook zone and is slightly more continuous than the Hyroad. R2S is known for adapting to surface changes very well, so don’t be afraid to scuff the surface if you don’t like the reaction of the astro out of the box. Be sure to stop into your local storm VIP pro shop and pre order your very own Astro physiX today!
