The Reality quickly became known as a ball that was a big asymmetric, but didn’t really act like one. It was surprisingly clean and responsive for being a 900 Series ball. The Altered Reality expands upon the unique shape that the Reality created by offering a broader spectrum of use on medium to heavy conditions.

DISTURBANCE ASYMMETRIC CORE

The Disturbance Asymmetric Core utilizes a modified scutoid geometric shape. This eccentric shape has a base of 6 sides and an apex of 5 sides. The elimination of the 6th side as you move vertically up the weight block creates the perfect amount of asymmetry. This shape also provides the RG/Diff values that all bowlers demand by utilizing a smaller amount of space within the outer core. When you put all of this together…we have created a truly unique and never before seen reaction to the 900 Series.

S84 Response Coverstock

The S84 Response Cover, with its special chemical composition that creates up to 20% larger pore sizes, has been altered to a 1500-grit polished finish. The Reality, even though it was a cleaner dull ball, is still very strong in the front part of the lane. The Altered Reality will clear the heads much easier and save more energy for the back part of the lane. Even though the cover is a pearl and polished, the larger pore size allows for more traction in the oil than traditional pearl covers.

Altered Reality review by Mike Craig
I drilled up my ALTERED REALITY 45 x 4 x 30. I have lightly hit this with 3000 abralon.

My intent was to have a big core pearl that would be strong and continuous on the back end. The ALTERED is just that ball.

I have thrown this on several conditions including PBA50 Johnny Petraglia 46 foot. The ALTERED is continuous compared to my heavy hitters like the NOVA and PROTON PHYSIX in that I could go to it when those 2 big oil monsters were starting to lag in the back end and straighten out. I can see even going down to 1500 or 2000 with this to smooth it out if the condition is more flat in the middle and you need to smooth it out in the back.

Fantastic ball
Just an average league bowler, who was fitted by the local pro shop. I have not clue what the drill pattern is. All I can say is that I throw a ton of strikes with the altered reality. It finishes strong no matter what line I play. I don’t know anything about oil patterns, but I know how to make lane adjustments as the alleys break down. The altered reality gives me the confidence to throw the ball whatever line I want to and have it flush in the pocket every time.

Awesome ball
This ball drives like a Mack truck into the pins. The pins just explode into the back of the pit.
I have only have had the altered reality for six weeks, just starting realize what this ball can do. I’m a low rev and slow mph tweener. This by far the best ball i have throw. I use it for my first and second ball. Actually the only ball I have.

Altered Reality!
Hey everyone, this is Storm staff member Josh Shoemaker here again with another ball review for the Altered Reality. As always, I would like to thank Storm for providing the equipment I use every time I step out onto the lanes and I Am Bowling for making sure I always look good no matter what! Today I will be bowling on a standard medium to higher volume house shot in a new center. This will most likely be where a majority of my videos will be recorded from now on due to myself bowling league here now. As you may have noticed, I have started to branch out in my reviews. From this point forward I will start reviewing balls from all three lines, not just Storm. The Altered Reality features the same disturbance core found in the original Reality, but is now wrapped in the S84 cover. The disturbance core boasts an RG of 2.48, differential of 0.052 and intermediate split of 0.018. The original Reality is less than a year old and has already become a favorite for a ton of league and tournament bowlers alike. The Altered Reality offers the same control and ability to blend as the original Reality, but in a slightly lower friction package. The Altered Reality has been my go to ball for a few months now when the Proton, Reality and RST are slowing down too quickly but the lane isn’t quite defined enough for the UFO Alert. Before the Altered Reality, I had my Dark Code in the same spot in the bag. When I need a little more shape on a softer pattern, I tend to lean more towards the Dark Code. When I want to stay a little closer to the friction and need more closed angles, the Altered Reality is the better option. When compared to the original Reality, the Altered is cleaner and faster to respond to friction downlane. When compared to the UFO Alert, the Altered is earlier and stronger overall. Head over to your local Storm VIP pro shop and grab your very own Altered Reality today!

The GOAT
This ball is truly unbelievable!! I used it in league the other night, only throwing it a couple practice games before hand, and bowled a 769 series!! Current average is a 204. I have a 900 Global Zen Master, Rotogrip Helios, Rotogrip UC3, 900 Global AR, IQ Tour, and IQ Tour Emerald!! I went 3 games with the AR and didn’t hang one ten pin on pocket shots!! I did hang one stone 9, but seriously this is the hardest hitting ball I have ever owned period!! It’s totally got a different sound when hitting the pocket !! You guys knocked it out of the ballpark with this one!! I think it’s made by Aliens?? you guys did such awesome job on this ball that now I’ve got too spend my hard earned money and buy me a reality?? I’ve got quite a few people buying these AR balls due to people observing me throwing it and seeing the pin action and hit of this beast! Thank you !! If it weren’t for the few splits I left due to my bad mechanics, I would have hit my first 800 series

Altered Reality by RGR
900 Global Altered Reality
Layout: 70 X 2 X 70 - 1500 grit and factory polished to start - knocked down to 2000 grit
Test drive on SPL lane surface with 46ft THS with a Kegel ION lane machine
The WORLD of bowling REALITY has been ALTERED by the latest release from Global.
Reminiscing about the great days of my bowling days, I loved the Epic line very much and the 900 Global Reality reacted just like the Roto Grip Odyssey, hoping the 900 Global Altered Reality would be the EPIC SAGA, it was a very close reaction overall. A little longer and stronger, due to updated coverstock materials. But it worked even better with the polished knock off, became less over / under and did not hydro in the front part of the pattern and I was able to use it throughout the whole night of testing, practice, and league play.
UPDATE: after writing this, I went and decided to venture to an older center where "bowlers'' don't me as well as the other 2 centers I practice at or bowl leagues at, the lanes are wood in super GREAT shape, they use an older Ion machine, but the Altered Reality worked really well the whole night of practice. I did hand polish it because at 2000 grit, the ball was a little bit too early for my likings. If you are looking for a "BIGGER" piece in your league and tournament bags, this would be an AWESOME addition

Review:
This Ball is simply incredible! This is the most hook I have ever had with a polished ball and the hit is outstanding. I have drilled these up for many other people and the results have been impressive in performance and carry for many styles of play as long as there is oil. That being said, I have not had to put it away too quickly because it rolls great and carries as you move inside. I would say it kind of reminds me of a stronger, new and improved Halo pearl. I did not drill this ball too strong because with the new technologies the core and cover do not need much help from the layout. I think this ball is going to do what it’s going to do and does it well! I have already racked up some big games and a few nice sets with this ball and I feel it will be my go to heavy oil shiny ball. The trust I have in this piece is already very high. This is a bit on the higher price scale but it is selling very well as folks see what it does on the lanes.

Summary:
The Altered Reality gives big hook and big hit!
The Ball seems to like multiple styles and angles.
This is one of the best balls I have rolled lately.

Altered Reality
Altered Reality is just WOW...
This ball is phenomenal in many ways! The colors, the sick ball motion, and the hard hitting power this ball gives to destroy the pocket. Most pearls for me can be extremely touchy on certain house shots, but this one can handle well on all patterns from what I’ve seen! Get your hands on one today ASAP!
