INTENSE

Radial Accelerating Disk™ (RAD) technology was unveiled in the original X-Factor™ series as the first to feature dual density disc technology. More recently, this design premise emerged in the RAD4™ Core powering the Code™ series. With the new Intense, our R&D Team is taking it a step further with the new RAD-E™ Core. The “E” stands for ENERGY as the elongated ellipses near the pin increase the separation of mass as well as the potential energy of this dynamic beast.

To strike, there must be friction

R3S is the third generation of Storm’s flagship coverstock: Reactor cover material. This shell has a measurable porosity that is higher than its predecessor. This increased porosity reads the lane slightly sooner than Reactor or R2S and smooths out the overall reaction. Blending out lane transition is one of R3S’s best features.

First Day with the Intense
I have been bowling for about ten months. My wife and I currently live in Ukraine with our daughter, and one day we noticed that there was a bowling alley in the basement of a grocery store near where we lived. I suggested that we try bowling, and twice my wife said no. But on the third time she excited said "let's try!". We got hooked, and after a few months I bought my first bowling ball - a Match Up Pearl. This ball literally changed bowling - everything was different, and much more fun.
Fast forward to today. I ordered an Intense from my local dealer (the only dealer I know of in the western part of the country). It arrived, and I had it drilled right before an evening tournament. There aren't enough words to gush about this ball! There were six qualification games, and in one game I threw 6 strikes in a row to go off the sheet. I was nervous because I read about how strong this ball is. But in reality the raw power is very controllable. I have never had so many strike streaks of three or more. And talk about fun! Getting my first ball made bowling much more fun, and this ball just took it to the proverbial next level. I made it to the round of 16, and then to the round of 12. So I used the ball in all eight games. At no point was I even tempted to switch to a different ball. This ball is much more versatile than I imagined. You don't have to put it away after a couple of games.
I read about people buying two or three of the same ball in order to drill them differently. Frankly, I thought this was overkill. But for the first time ever, I'm going to buy more. I will buy at least one more. And Storm had better keep making this ball for a long, long time. It was also surprising how many people noticed how the ball performed. Some even commented that it smelled like a mojito. My hand still has the smell, even after coming home :) I'm not even a great player yet, but with this ball you almost have to try to keep your score under 200.

Awesome
Got this ball new in the box and drilled. Once I got the angle and sharp turn this ball made I started to find my marks and once I did I shot a 259 my first game!

Just started to use the Intense during this league season.,The house I bowl in here in Huntsville, Alabama sometimes gets a bunch of carry down to the break point. It kind of reminds me of a real inconsistent wet - dry condition. As I watch across the house during the evening, i see so many 2-8 - 10's and washouts by the middle of game 2 it is not even funny, and this happens not from lane to lane. The intense I have has been drilled with the CG kicked about 1 and a half inches from the thumb. This allows the ball to stay more consistently around the pocket. Now the movement of the oil does not effect this ball as much. It has tremendous hitting power. It has really made me more excited about wanting to bowl league on Wednesday Night. Thanks Storm for making fantastic equipment. The hitting power is second to none.

That was Intense Winner
I was the week four That Was Intense challenge winner and since I have had my ball my game has improved drastically! I completely changed where I throw and where I have to stand all together. I had to move myself deeper into the oil just so this ball doesn’t hook out of the house! This has to be the best ball I have seen around and I am very lucky to have won this ball. Thanks again Storm!

Love it
It has really helped me bowl. I started with a 160's average but with help of the Intense it made my average go up to around 190 and when you throw it out and you feel its staying there, it comes back and gets a solid pocket strike

804 on Kegel Challenge Pattern
Never thought a ball could make a challenge pattern look like a house shot. Bowling on the Route 66 pattern with my Intense, did jus that. Used the same ball all night and was consistent with games of 269-258-277.

Ball is a beast!
This ball carries so much energy through the pins its shocking! The ball is aggressive but also forgiving , if you get a little far out the snap back to the pocket is Intense! (Pun intended) Chews through oil! Love this ball!

The Intense is seriously Intense on lane
As a tweener, the Intense allows me to be very versatile on lanes during practice, competition. The RAD-E core allows the ball to have a very smooth backend reaction down the lanes. It is my ball of choice when I need a ball that can tackle lanes that are starting to break down.

5” x 4.5” x 1.5” Intense
This intense was done intentionally with this layout in a 1.5” buffer that seems way too small, but it has a specific purpose.

Hank Boomershine helped me lay out an original Fight for the USBC OC where the smaller buffer shuts down the transition window so you can make smaller moves when the lane changes and not give away the pocket too much. I still have that Fight today and it hardly gets any use, but when it does, it’s an amazing reaction.

Enter the Intense and I wanted to get this layout into an asymmetrical ball. With the additional differential and intermediate, I knew this layout would give me a similar motion, but start sooner than the Fight that at times can be tricky.

Like the Danger, I haven’t had many opportunities to throw the Intense as I’d like, but I had a chance to throw it on a quick transitioning league pattern and liked the results. The key is I saw the change in the lane quicker but when the ball saw the spot it rolled more forward rather than jerk off the dry spot. Then simple moves brought back the desired motion until it changed again.

The short buffer IS NOT for everyone. But having an option like this in your bag for a specific purpose of closing down the transition window when it’s needed is a real benefit in controlling the motion of the ball to make it go through the pins better.

Storm INTENSE
Ah, The storm Intense is finally here! The Intense has a modified version of the rad-x core found in the code series balls, and is wrapped in the R3S coverstock from SnapLock. This provides a slightly cleaner ball reaction then the SnapLock, but still super heavy forward rolling. This is by far the hardest hitting ball I’ve thrown to date, in my review video you can be multiple shots where the ball finishes in the 8 pin position. Out of box the Intense is going to be a great ball for a league bowlers, and tournament bowlers alike. After filming my review video, I knocked the shine off with a 2000 pad, and saw a much rounder shape. I like this motion much more then out of box, and plan to keep it like this. When I really need to get in and open up my angles, I still think that the code red is a slightly better option, but when I need to keep my angles tight on the fresh nothing will beat the Intense. The Intense is available for purchase now, be sure to head over to your local pro shop and get your very own today! #StormNation

I bought 2 Intense.
I bought the Intense and right out the box in league I shot a 677. It gives me a look that my Crux Pearl wouldn’t give me. Plus it’s continuations thru the pins is exceptional. This ball so great I bought 2 more.
