The decision to unite all international bowling organizations under the common brand name of 'World Bowling' will be showcased at SportAccord Convention in Belek, Turkey this week.

This new step for international bowling will be celebrated at the convention during a special bowling event on Thursday April 10th - hosted by World Bowling President Kevin Dornberger and with the participation of World Champion bowler Clara Guerrero.

"Under the new umbrella of World Bowling we are at the start of an exciting journey that will further develop our worldwide sport as well as increase its recognition among the international sporting community", Dornberger stated.

"Much of this is possible because of the strong support we have from within our sports community and of course our industry partners and together we are sure to reach new heights for international bowling."

World Bowling has the commitment of all of its 129 national federations in expanding the reach and relevance of bowling worldwide under the new World Bowling name. 

In particular, the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) has provided its financial support to World Bowling. USBC President Andrew Cain will be onsite during the convention in Belek.

"World Bowling gives new strength to each and every national federation around the world", Cain said. "USBC fully supports the ambitions of World Bowling and is proud to be part of building a stronger future for the organisation and sport worldwide.

Bowling Industry leaders have also demonstrated strong support including Bowling Proprietors Association of America (BPAA), Storm Bowling Products, Brunswick Bowling Products, and Kegel. who have all provided financial support to World Bowling as they embark on their new journey.

"Today, Storm bowling balls can be found in the hands of many prominent professional and amateur bowlers alike, so we naturally support World Bowling as they take on the leadership of developing the game worldwide for the benefit of athletes everywhere and at all levels", said Bill Chrisman CEO, Storm Bowling Products.

"It is our vision to make bowling centers the destination of choice for all and therefore we fully support World Bowling as they strive to develop the sport at all levels. From elite competitions to family fun, together with World Bowling we are building a better future for bowling," Cathy DeSocio President of BPAA, said.

Kegel President Chris Chartrand added: "World Bowling has our full support. Seeing a stronger and more unified leadership gives new energy to the sport that we are passionate about building through our research and product development aimed at enhancing the sport of bowling."
