Bowling News USA - June 26, 2012 Senior U.S. Women's Open Finals Roll Today in Reno...

USBC Hall of Famer Lucy Sandelin of Tampa, Fla., is in position for a wire-to-wire victory at the Senior U.S. Women's Open as she grabbed the top spot for the stepladder finals at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno, Nev., on Monday.

Sandelin will need just one win to claim the title after leading every round of the inaugural running of the event. She will be joined by three other Hall of Famers in the finals. Robin Romeo of Newhall, Calif., was second with 6,959, Dana Miller-Mackie of Albuquerque, N.M., was in third with 6,929 and Jeanne Naccarato of Tacoma, Wash., rounded out the field with 6,878.

"We're all hall of famers, we're all champions, so this tournament is wide open for anyone," Sandelin said.

"It's going to come down to who can execute the shot in the critical moments. I'm just going to follow my pre-shot routine, make sure the ball feels good on my hand and just have some fun. To be the first-ever Senior U.S. Women's Open champion, no one can take that away."

Miller-Mackie will face off against Naccarato in the opening match, with the winner squaring off against Romeo. Sandelin will await the winner in the finals, with the champion claiming the $5,000 top prize.

Competition will kick off at 4 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday and will be broadcast live on's BowlTV.
