Bowling News USA - November 27, 2011 Remy Ong Storm's to Victory at Singapore National Championships...

Singapore's most successful national bowler, Remy Ong, finally nailed down the elusive 42nd Singapore National Championships Men's title at Orchid Country Club on Saturday...

The men's title match was a one-sided affair after the top seed, Storm International staffer Remy Ong, doubled in the third and fourth frames and then reeled off five consecutive strikes to cruise to a sizzling 247.

Mark Wong had an open frame at the start of the match and another in the sixth frame ending with 141 to settle for second. Wong had earlier beaten No. 3 seed, Ng Tiac Pin, 232-137 to advance to the finals.

Ong used a Storm Natural™ and Natural™ Pearl on the the 35 foot lane pattern.

The champion Ong, has had an illustrious bowling career, but the national title had eluded the 32-year-old for many years. Ong did come close to winning the title in 2009, but settled for second.

Ong had planned to compete in the on-going 11th Qatar Bowling Open in Doha, which he had won twice, but instead decided to focus on the Singapore National Title. His decision paid off well.
