Bowling News USA - May 23, 2011 Storm Partners With Purdue University Bowling Camp

West Lafayette, IN – The Purdue Bowling Program is excited to announce a partnership with Storm Bowling for the 2011 Player Development Youth Camp. This year’s camp will be held July 28-31, 2011 and is open to boys and girls ages 12-20. The partnership will allow campers to purchase a high performance Storm bowling ball at a substantial discount.

The summer bowling camp is taught by Purdue Head Coach Scott Savage and Assistant Coach Doug Wiedman, as well as former and current Purdue bowlers. The camp is a residential camp with a focus on bowlers wishing to become college players. Along with learning the basic fundamentals of the game, complex topics such as advanced lane play (sport conditions), sports psychology, physical fitness for bowling, and more will be taught. This camp also features drills that students can take with them, fun competition, and team-building activities for campers outside of the bowling center. Campers will also have the luxury of analyzing their game with video analysis, using advanced bowling-specific software. Housing and meals are provided. The camper to coach ratio will be no more than five to one.

“This year’s camp is shaping up to be our best yet,” stated Head Coach Scott Savage. “We are thrilled to have Storm Bowling on board this year and be able to provide our youth campers with such a high quality product at a substantial discount.” Savage also commented that the campers will receive free custom drilling and grip analysis. The brochure with complete details for the 2011 Player Development Camp is now available at the Purdue bowling home page at
