Bowling News USA - April 11, 2011 Bowling Becomes A Part Of The Presidential Fitness Challenge

 

We have great news to share. The "Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Bowling" program is now affiliated with The President's Fitness Challenge. This is a fantastic addition to an already incredible program. This new relationship will help strengthen your ties with the schools in your market and reinforce the benefits of bowling as a physical and social activity among families. 

 

What's the President's Fitness Challenge, you ask? It's a great way to encourage your customers, especially youth, to be active and have fun.

 

The purpose of The “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Bowling” President’s Fitness Challenge is to:

   

1. Promote bowling as a physical activity and as an essential component to a healthy lifestyle.

 

2. Increase the opportunities for our youth to become physically active outside of school.

 

3. Complement the school’s Physical Education Program by providing additional activity after school and during school breaks and holidays.

 

4. Provide a no cost step that school leaders can take to improve the physical activity environment for its students.

 

5. Build a solid partnership with schools and local business.

 

6. Incorporate the President’s Council on Physical Fitness with your “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Bowling” program.

 

7. Encourage children and families to be more active – physically and socially.

 

8. It is our commitment to grow a healthier community and a healthier America.

 

Join the group and invite your customers to join as well. Here's what you need to do:

 

A. Create a free account at http://www.presidentschallenge.org/.

B. In the upper right corner, click on “Register Now.”

C. Under the heading: “Individuals and Groups” click on “Create an individual account.”

D. After creating your account, you’ll receive the “Congrats” message. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the option: “Go to Groups.” 

E. Under the heading “Your Activity Tracker,” click on the red tab labeled “GROUPS.”

F. Enter the Group Number 99243. Click “Submit.”

G. Click on the button, “Join this group.”

 

Once you’ve joined the group, you will be able to:

 

1. Make this program a part of your “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Bowling” program.

2. Invite your customers, especially students, to join.

3. Log your own activities and earn points that will count toward our group's total and will help you earn President's Challenge awards.

4. See how you and your customers are doing compared to other group members.

5. Interact with other members in our group forum.
