Bowling News USA - February 22, 2011 Al-Hashimi Crowned Champion of 8th Bevida-Storm Challenge...

MANILA, Philippines — UAE’s Hashim Al-Hashimi fired a ten-game series of 2285 to rule the 8th Bevida-Storm Challenge at the Pearl Bowling Center in Harrizon Plaza.

Al-Hashimi beat PBA’s Dr. Ceasar Muere by mere two points to bag his first ever title worth P100,000.

Muere had the chance to steal the win, but failed to strike in the 10th frame, allowing Al-Hashimi to escape with the victory.

PBAP-Bowlmart’s Gene Basa finished third with 2243, beating out teammate Lara Posadas by just four pins (2239). A pin adrift Posadas was Henrich’s Vener Reasonada. Placing sixth was TBAM’s Kap Aquila with 2237.

PBAP-Bowlmart’s J Em Ang (2213), PTBA’s Alan Co (2188), PBAP-Bowlmart’s Cecilia Yap (2182) and CTBA’s Chen Hung Chih (2158) rounded out the top 10 finalists.

ATBA-FCO-UPHS’s Eric Arnez (2134) and BALP’s Marc Matias (2127) are the finalists in the Bevida Storm Challenge of the event sponsored by Euro-Med Laboratories and Storm Products Inc.

Other backers are Bevida distilled drinking water, Wave products by Ark International, Roto Grip, AZO, EGI, and Premiere Insurance and Surety. Philippine Airlines is the official airline partner, while Heritage Hotel again serves as the official hotel. Manila Bulletin and Sports Digest are the official media partner. Other backers are Bowlmart Training Institute and Wave Products by Ark International.

Storm staffer Tim Mack emerged as the stage one leader of the Euromed Storm International Masters Challenge by rolling a series of 1928.

He is followed by HKTBC’s Joshua Chow (1889), and MTBC’s Alex Liew (1869).
