Bowling News USA - May 14, 2010 47 Strikes in a Row!
Storm staff member Tommy Gollick has taken his place in the history books. The 32-year old left-hander from Oberlin, PA finished his first game with a 279 before throwing three consecutive perfect games for an astonishing 1,179. Gollick finished his four-game series with 47 straight strikes, a national record according to the USBC.
“The best way to describe it is disbelief” comment Gollick. With already several 300 games and 800 series to his resume Gollick is also a holder of two PBA East Regional titles.
Using the Storm Invasion™ for all four games, Gollick made minor adjustments throughout the series such as feet and hand positions. However, the biggest hurdle for him to accomplish this outstanding score was dealing with the pressure. “The second ball in the 10th frame the second game was probably the hardest of the night” Gollick said. “One of the most exciting things was earning the house record. It’s something I haven’t done in my career.”
Congratulations Tommy!!
