Bowling News USA - January 26, 2010 Bowlers Ready for "A Game" - 2010 February High Roller

The 2010 February "A Game" is a 2-day event, starting on Sunday, January 31!  Players bowl a 5-gamer with 1 in 5 advancing to the Semi's and then onto the Match Play Finals, both on Monday.

There are 2 age divisions: 49 & under or 50 & over. The winner of each division bowls a 1-game match to determine the "A Game" champ. After prizes of $10,000 & $5,000 are paid to the finalists, it's on to the February High Roller!

The popular 3-game Sweepers start Monday with $4,000 guaranteed for 1st!  Sweepers continue on Tuesday & Thursday and there are guaranteed prizes in each for seniors of at least $1,000!

The 2010 February High Roller is sponsored by Storm Products! Storm representatives will be onsite at Sam's Town Bowling Center!

Then on Tuesday, February 2nd, the main event starts. There is a free practice session every morning Tuesday through Friday from 7:30 to 8:30am followed by a VIP warm-up.  The VIP makes good a warm-up but there is a $3,000 purse each day paid for the highest games of the 1-game event with $1,000 1st. And of course there are guaranteed prizes for seniors each day.

Following the VIP comes the famous High Roller match play!  Each day Tuesday through Saturday there are two Round 1 squads that you can pick from. Match play winners advance as there are 4 rounds each day.  Round 3 winners win $1,000 and Round 3 losers win a Storm ball!  Round 4 winners advance to the Grand Finals on Saturday, February 6.

Players can re-enter the same day or any other day and win $1,000 each day!

Match play is in two separate divisions: 49 & Under or the combination division of age 50 & over with any age player that is 215 average and under.

The undefeated match play contestants from each division bowl each other in the title match for the $30,000 & $15,000 top prizes!

We already have a lot of prepaid contestants and it looks like the February High Roller and "A Game" double header will be a big one!

Other news for the February High Roller is that we have relaxed the rule that disallowed players who were not eligible for the most recent High Roller.

 In all Round 1 squads, players start over whether it is their 1st entry or a re-entry.  Players receive a different Storm high performance ball on their 1st & 3rd re-entry.  And Storm will again feature their "See Your Game" video & coaching. Storm, the Presenting Sponsor will award hundreds of new Storm balls during the High Roller for players re-entering. And the Storm staff will be onsite for information and layout all week.
