I have my Virtual Energy dilled pin under middle finger, cg to the left of palm and the mass bias to the left an inch of the thumbhole.. This ball rolls so strong through the burn but still clean with a nice arc on the end.. This storm ball hits Like a truck!!

The Virtual Energy is an excellent ball to change to after using the Virtual Gravity. When the oil breaks down in the front part of the lane, the Virtual Energy is an excellent way to get that great backend reaction while being able to push through dry heads. Its very versatile and can be used on a variety of angles. I was able to play straight up the boards even though this ball has such a high hook potential, it retained its energy very well. Basically the ball has the same high amount of backend that the Virtual Gravity has, without being too strong when the oil breaks down.

I bought this ball to combat med-med heavy oil conditions and still have a sharp backend motion. This ball does just that. I can play virtually any angle on the lane with this ball. Because of the sharp backend motion it is easy continually move left as the lanes break down and not have carry suffer.

This ball is versatile, and you can use it on a variety of conditions. I get good length with it and a strong backend reaction, and the drive through the pins is great. This is a great ball to have in your arsenal.

I bought this ball to have a very strong backend motion, and could use when on a variety of shots. The ball is drilled with the pin above the ring finger, and the CG under the bridge about 4-4.5 inches, and the Mass Bias partly drilled out. The ball gets down the lane, then takes a big jump right to the pocket. The drilling is not overly aggressive so it has some hold potential to it. The first time I used it was on a house shot, and was standing in front of the ball return game one, so it has a lot of backend. I love the fact that it is this aggressive, but can still be used on shorter patterns with taking some hand out of it.

The new Virtual Energy has the SHAPE-LOCK HD core found in both the Gravity Shift, and Virtual Gravity. The cover is a combination of the R2X PEARL and R2X SOLID. I drilled two. The first one using the same layout I used on a Virtual Gravity, drilled ring finger thru the pin, Mass Bias key kicked out at 50°. Polished to 1500 grit, makes it smooth thru the heads with a powerful backend reaction. If you’re using the Virtual Gravity and the heads start to breakdown, the new Virtual Energy is just what you need. More length than the Virtual Gravity, and stronger on the back than the Gravity Shift.
I drilled my second Virtual Energy with a 4x4 with a 1 1/2 pin buffer off my pap, and hit it with a 2000 abralon pad. Adjusting the cover allows the ball to start up sooner. This worked great on the viper and scorpion patterns. This ball’s transition is easy to read and much smoother than regular reactive pearls, but just as strong. Storm once again gives you a one two punch in the Virtual Gravity and the new Virtual Energy. For bowlers looking for great performance and versatility, the new Virtual Energy is it.

This review may not be all that helpful, but I had to post my comments on this ball. I drilled this ball up before league on the 31st of August..
The Hy Road, VG and VE are great balls. My Ball Speed is 19-19.5 and my rev rate is 460. I have only tested this ball on a house shot as of now, although a regional is coming up soon.
I have this drilled pin up approx 4" from my Pap.
My first series with this ball was 289,288 and 238 for an 815. Only the second 800 series ever in my center.
Compared to the VG it goes a little longer than makes a very strong move off the dry part of the lane. This ball hits very hard, similar to the Virtual Gravity. I would highly recommend this ball as a compliment to the Virtual Gravity.
Bowled yesterday in a Team Challenge event (It was still a house shot), and shot 300, 279, and 234 for an 813.

I punched up a Virtual Energy with a 4x4 drilling with a weight hole kicked up on my PAP near the center of the grip about 4 inches over. I personaly love this ball. I always have it in my bag for house shots and sport shots. The ball rolls nicely and a little earlier than most shiny balls. Being a lower rev player, it gives me a strong back end with a predictable reaction. Very rarely can I not controll this ball. I have scored extrememly well with this ball. One of the best from storm yet. Looking forward to the next release from storm. I strongly recomend this ball for any bowler regardless of age or style. You can also change the surface of the ball for the shot that you are bowling on. For the Shark pattern, you could take it to 2000 abralon and play up the boards with it. Extremely versatile ball. Thanks storm for a wonderful ball!

I want to update my review of the Virtual Energy. I have used these two balls at a few regionals and on a few different house conditions and PBAX patterns. Using the surfaces at 4000 with polish by hand on the pin over, and 2000 with polish by hand on the pin under, sometimes didn't give me a readable ball reaction. They seemed to go straighter through the heads on heavy oil than the VG, but would hook earlier than the VG if the heads started to go. I have since decided to use the VE as my most aggressive surface prep of the three HD core balls (VG, VE, and GS). Since hitting the pin over VE with 2000, and the pin under with 1000 abralon, I am so surprised at how much earlier the balls read, but still able to produce such a strong motion in the backend. The Vg at the same prep, roll early and smooth for me. The VE reads the fronts and mids the same, but are much more angular in the backend. So basically, these have now moved down the list to fresh heavy oil, with carrydown balls. They will see the lanes when alot of motion is needed. The new surface changes really evened out the squirt I was seeing on fresh oil. Surprisingly, the extra surface only enhanced what the balls are doing on the backend as well.
In closing, the surface prep of a ball really is the most important factor in how a ball will work for you. If you are not completely satisfied with your ball, try altering the surface before adding balance holes, or redrilling. You may just find what you are looking for.
