Del Ballard Jr.

On the show, Tom used a strategy I would not have recommended but he is the bowler and it worked. He tried to burn them up as much as possible to force Osku and Belmo left. Most people would have done the opposite. Tom won the first match using Marvel Pearl then next was a Crossroads Then title match used a Victory Road Pearl. He bowled great. Beating the two handers is not an easy task but he did it.

Randy Pedersen

What can I say about  Tom Daugherty? Remember the last time we saw him on TV? The 2011 TOC against Mika Koivuniemi, he fired a whopping 100. He handled that miserable day with grace and class. So I know I wasn’t the only person watching this telecast wondering what type of performance we would get from Big Tom. He survives the 1st match, after giving Jason Sterner an opening in the 10th, it never hurts to be lucky, Just ask Ernie Schlegel. Then He takes on Jason Belmonte. He makes a ball change, moves in. Makes some great shots. Converts the 4-10 split. Just awesome stuff.

Now the stage is set, Tom is 1 win away from his first ever title, a chance to put the infamous 100 game behind him. A chance to be a PBA champion for the first time ever. But first he has to get by the other two handed tour sensation in Osku Paleerma. In the title match Tom juggled through his equipment like a circus acrobat. He converted a massive washout mid way through the match. He never looked comfortable yet he dug deep and found a way to get the job done.

His game plan coming in to the televised match was to “play deeper than everyone else on the telecast” and he did it brilliantly and came away with a victory. He stuck to his game plan, made splits, converted washouts, and covered all his spares. Congrats to Tom Daugherty on winning his 1st title, I think he may have used the entire line of Storm bowling balls in the process.

Osku used a Vivid then to a Defiant Soul. He was throwing it as hard as anyone I have EVER SEEN.

Osku felt his best option was to play out and stay away from Tom. He bowled well but couldn't knock them over. He left a split and missed a four pin. But he has had some physical issues with his hand and it hurts him to try and hook it. In his words "I lost 200-180. I missed 3 times leaving a split I made, then 4-6, then missed a ten pin."

Jason Belmonte

On the show, I struck every time on the left lane, zero times on the right.  With only 4 balls practice, it was almost impossible to see the differences in the lanes until it was too late.
