Biography

Bowling has been his life since acquiring Pro Am Sports in 2005.  John is a member of the International Bowling Pro Shop and Instructor's Association, also known as IBPSIA, since 2005 and an IBPSIA Advanced Certified Technician since 2006.  When he isn't in the shop life is all about his family.  He enjoys watching the Seattle Seahawks and listening to AC/DC.  His favorite food is Mexican or Italian and loves to play golf.

John has been bowling leagues since 1974 and has been the league secretary for the Minor Aono Classic for 15 years.  Has also served as the vice president for the Greater Boise Bowling Association Board of Directors and Young American Bowling Alliance Idaho State Representative.

He is staunch support of youth bowling having been the YABA Program Advisor for the Leadership Workshop to promote and administer to youth programs.  John is a Level I USBC Certified Coach and YABA Coach/Instructor having trained to teach youth bowlers "The Fundamentals of Beggining Bowling".  Is the junior league coordinator at Westy's Garden Lanes for over 15 years.

John served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Ada County YABA in a directorship capacity and was awarded the Coach of the Year Honors for Ada County YABA in 1994 and 1995.  He was inducted into the Ada County YABA Donna Holderness Hall of Fame, in 1996. Under his watch as the Junior Scratch Bowlers of Idaho Tournament Director the program raised $20,000 scholarship dollars for the Idaho State YABA.

He has been a member of the Idaho State YABA Board of Directors.  Participated in three Northwest Tournaments for the Northwest International Bowling Congress and fifteen American Bowling Congress National Tournaments.  As well as, been an ABC Delegate of Alternate for six years representing the GBBA at the National Convention. 

Inducted into the Ada County USBC Hall of Fame in 2010.
